About Wee Friends …
Wee Friends Early Childhood Program LLC was established in August of 1996 by Tami Barbour. Our location is very central to the South Bend and Mishawaka communities as we are only a 2 minute drive from IUSB and Potawatomi Zoo and a 5-10 minute drive from downtown South Bend, the University of Notre Dame, or downtown Mishawaka. Wee Friends is tucked into a family friendly residential neighborhood. Our preschool 
house and infant toddler house are next door to each other and are used exclusively for our small early childhood program. Both classrooms have been completely renovated and thoughtfully designed to meet the educational needs of the children we serve. Our preschool classroom has 3 full time teachers and they care for 16 children ages 3-6. Our infant toddler classroom has 2 full time teachers and they care for 8 children ages infant to 3.
Wee Friends is a State Licensed family childcare facility (since 1996), has held the 
highest rating, Level 4 in the state of Indiana (since the rating program originated in 2009), is a nationally NAFCC Accredited family childcare (since 1999), and is a participant in the Child and Adult Food Program (CAAFP). Our Mission Statement
Wee Friends promotes the total emotional, cognitive, and social and physical development of young children. At Wee Friends, learning occurs as the student voluntarily engages in choosing among alternatives such as dramatic play, sensory play, block building, music & movement activities, woodworking, art, writing and children’s literature.
Children at Wee Friends undergo mathematical, scientific, linguistic, artistic, and social growth through experiencing living. The teachers at Wee Friends guide students in investigating their own interests. We accommodate for all learning styles and individual rates of development. We focus on the “whole” child. We nurture children and build their self-esteem.
At Wee Friends you will find a closely-knit extended family as the parents interact with one another and all of the children. We encourage this with an open invitation to participate in every day and special activities. Our goal is to understand and support your parenting so that the children receive consistent guidance in their lives.
